Module 3: My Analysis of Yemoja by Laura James

  Welcome back! Here is another artwork analysis. Today’s art was created by Laura James and the piece itself is called Yemoja. A little bit about Laura James is that she is Founder and executive director of the Bronx Visual Artist Directory and she is also a working artist and independent curator. Laura is a self-taught painter and illustrator and has been for almost 30 years. Her artwork throughout the years shows race and class in America and the Caribbean. Now let’s get into the actual artwork Yemoja. In this piece in the center of the artwork we can see a beautiful woman with a stunning baby blue flowy dress and long gorgeous wavy hair floating in the middle water of what I could possibly think of as the ocean. Module 2: My Analysis of Girl on the Beach By Michele Hall

The artwork Girl on the Beach was created by Michele Hall who is an emerging artist from New Port, Sydney Australia. This artwork you can find at Artwork collective. It might not be a huge hit like artworks from Van Gough or Leonardo DaVinci, but it has its own magic going on and it just brings you in to really appreciate her work.  I couldn’t really find a date from when this artwork was painting but if I do I will update my blog. Let’s imagine this artwork with this description I am going to give you. Imagine a young woman with a yellow bikini top and a flowy blue skirt walking on a pathway with wooden railings on each side of her. On the left side there is a hill of brown with a mix of yellow sand with a bunch of grass covering it up. As she is walking this pathway, in front of her you see the bright blue skies with barely any clouds, just how we would like it when going to the beach.
