Module 5: My Analysis of "World Peace" by Nancy L. Jolicoeur
Today we will be
analyzing an artwork by Nancy L. Jolicoeur. This artwork is called World Peace.
Nancy L. Jolicoeur is an oil painter who started her art journey around 2012.
The artwork World Peace is very one of a kind. This piece is very meaningful. To explain the artwork in the vanishing point we have the earth with its light and dark blue to represent the ocean and the green shows North American and South America. On top of the earth is a white dove holding some kind of herb, I’m not really to sure. On the left side, it is dark and gloomy filled with smoking coming for the Twin Towers. In the center of the left life is a big red circle with a line going down the middle. Inside of the circle it is filled with many sad things we see here on this planet like heartbreak, incarceration, drugs, death, and how money controls this world. On the other side we have a beautiful blue sky with a shining bright sun and a gold piece sign in the middle. Inside of it is the happiness in this world like love, happiness, families, and health. On the bottom left corner, we see some harvest of pumpkin and corn and next to that is the statue of liberty. The meaning I take for this artwork is that there is always going to be hurt in this world, but we also have the happiness we shar with others. Of course, not all days will be filled with smiles. We also have to remember that what can be the best day ever for me or anybody, it could be the worst day of someone’s life on the other side of the world. There is nothing we can do to stop all the bad things in this world but we with the little things that bring us happiness is what can bring us all together.

I really like the painting you chose it is very relevant in today's world. Peace and violence are very turbulent. The way you described and felt the emotion of the painting really came through in your blog. The dove is actually holding an olive branch which is another symbol of peace..
